bio
Brett Renville is a documentary and commercial Cinematographer and Director, based in Seattle, WA. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, Brett developed a love for the natural world, and in his work, transferring the essence of a subject - be it human, of the animal variety, the environment, or a simple moment in time – is Brett’s passion and craft; drawing meaningful stories into focus through the lens of the camera. Having traveled around the globe, shooting various projects for NGOs in locales including Haiti, Rwanda, and Mexico, Brett has developed a broad scope of the world and the life that inhabits it, which translates into the subtle and intimate beauty of his art. Brett graduated from the Seattle Film Institute in 2006 and his work has appeared on National Geographic, The Discovery Channel, CNN, A&E, ESPN, NBC, MLB Network, and CBS Sports, and has premiered in numerous major film festivals. He is the resident Creative Director for Boost Creative! and Sustainable Media Group, and has worked with agencies such as Society, GreenRubino, Birdhouse Creative, Williams Helde, and Stanton & Everybody. He fancies himself a pretty fair chef and would never turn down a good Michelada – that would be rude, as well as hubris.
